Keith D. Boe, a member from Washington state, used his Australian Enfield in .303 British to down this black bear in Prince George, British Columbia.  Keith reports that he kept shooting as long as the bear kept moving, and ended up with five shots in the kill zone.

Toby Hildabrand of Kingston Springs, TN used his Winchester Model 1895 in .405 WCF to bag this black bear at the Lake of Angels on the Olympic Peninsula (WA).  One shot between the eyes at 100 yards, September 5, 1995.

 

Sustaining Member Trey Whitley took this 21-inch black bear on an August 2003 horseback hunt in New Mexico’s Gila Wilderness Area.  A Winchester Model 1895 takedown in .35 WCF was used to drop this bear on the run.

 

David Ballestrasse of Enumclaw, WA took this nice "Brownie" near Iliamna, AK.  He used a Winchester Model 1895 in .405 WCF with a 300 grain Barnes X.  Shot at about 30 yards under tough weather conditions.
